Surfing Victoria has been assisting Surf Coast Shire Council to deliver an ambitious project called the Surf Coast Cultural Centre The project will be located at the rear of Surf City in Torquay where the current Surfing Victoria offices and Australian National Surfing Museum are situated. Recently approved concept designs for a state-of-the-art Cultural Centre include a new home for the Australian National Surf Museum and offices for Surfing Victoria, an incredible new library, and a huge range of creative spaces and programs. The business case stacks up but it needs additional support and funding from the Federal Government to get it off the ground and it needs some advocacy.
With surfing being such an important part of our DNA, the positive opinions of our surfing community carries a lot of weight with politicians. We need your support to help us bring this bold project to fruition.
That’s why we’re asking you to take a few minutes out of your day to email your federal representatives and ask them to support this important project.
To make it easier for you, we are using an online tool called Do Gooder which has a pre-prepared email targeting the relevant federal politicians. You can also customise the email if you wish.
Go to the Surf Coast Cultural Centre project Do Gooder page to find out more and advocate for the project. Thanks for taking the time to read this and adding your voice to this project a bigger future for our surfing community.
