Bells Beach/Djarrak, VIC/AUS: The WorkSafe Victorian Classic state round competition has been postponed due to a lack of swell forecasted for the weekend.

The 2026 WorkSafe Victorian Classic Bells Beach / Djarrak has been postponed from this weekend due to forecasted lack of swell. The event, which was scheduled to crown the 2026 champions at Bells Beach/Djarrak, has now been rescheduled for October 24 and 25, 2026.

Hosted by Surfing Victoria and supported by WorkSafe Victoria, the two-day competition brings together over 50 competitors from across the state with a $5,000 prize pool, Victorian State Titles, and a place in the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach Trials on the line.

“It’s an unfortunately situation, however getting the surfers in the best waves is a priority,” said Surfing Victoria CEO Adam Robertson.

“The WorkSafe Victorian Classic is the pinnacle open event in the state and is the direct pathway into the Rip Curl Pro Trials and with the forecasted waves, crowning a state champion this weekend will not be possible. We look forward to hopefully some better waves next weekend!”

Surfers set to feature in the field include Rose Holland, Willis Droomer, Tully Wylie, Bohdie Williams, Harry de Roth, Lillian Bassed, and Sara Hickson.

Entries will remain open until 9 a.m. Tuesday, 20th October. Further updates, heat draws, and event details will be available through Surfing Victoria’s official channels.
