Great Ocean Road Womens Surf Fest – Welcome to the Surf Coast

Published on 10/11/2025

We’re excited to see the Great Ocean Road Women’s Surf Festival return to Lorne after such a successful inaugural event last year.

Our Surf Coast Events calendar is packed with events that bring people together to enjoy our stunning natural environment and share the Surf Coast vibe, and the Surf Fest is a shining example.

The festival not only celebrates the Surf Coast’s status as one of Australia’s top surfing destinations but also embraces surfers of all levels – from absolute beginners to seasoned pros, such as reigning Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach champion Isabella Nicholls.

It’s pretty special that festivalgoers will have the chance to rub shoulders with Isabella and learn valuable insights when the championship tour surfer sits down for a Q&A.

Council is a proud supporter of events that celebrate female athletes, who are fantastic role models, and encourage active living.

Isabella’s Q&A headlines an incredible program of activities, with plenty on offer both in and out of the water.

We’re delighted to support the Great Ocean Road Women’s Surf Fest through our Surf Coast Events Grants Program.

As a Council, we’re committed to supporting tourism that benefits our communities and delivers more consistent economic and social benefits year-round. Events provide a big boost for local businesses, especially outside peak season.

So, it means a lot to welcome back the Great Ocean Road Women’s Surf Festival before the busy summer peak season. The weekend is a chance for visitors to fall in love with Lorne and hopefully inspire them to book a return trip to our coast or hinterland very soon.

A special mention to the Lorne community, which does an amazing job rolling out the welcome mat for a variety of events – from sport to the arts to community markets.

To Adam and the Surfing Victoria team, congratulations on delivering the second edition of this wonderful event and making it so inclusive. To the participants, competitors and spectators, wishing you an awesome couple of days.

Surf Coast Shire Mayor, Cr Mike Bodsworth
