Surfing Victoria and the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) are proud to announce the TAC Tradies Challenge will return to URBNSURF this coming October.
The TAC Tradies Surf Challenge is a specialty surf contest for tradesmen and women in Victoria. Comprising Open, Over 35 and Bodyboard divisions, the event pits tradies against each other in a fun & relaxed event.
TAC Head of Community, Jacqui Sampson, said the TAC’s partnership with Surfing Victoria provided opportunities, like the Tradies Challenge, to engage directly with priority audiences on important road safety issues.
“We know that tradies who surf use the roads a lot, for work and leisure, so this fun and exciting event is a great opportunity for the TAC to connect directly with participants – particularly young tradespeople.”
“Our partnership with Surfing Victoria is an example of how the TAC is continuing to find ways to show up differently in the community and work with Victorians on keeping our roads safe.”
Speaking on the partnership, Surfing Victoria CEO, Adam Robertson, is excited to welcome the TAC on as naming rights partner.

With the TAC Tradies Challenge being held at URBNSURF, tradies will be able to bring their best surfing to the wave pool with perfect sections on offer for them to throw down huge manoeuvres all day.
All competitors will also receive free-surfing time in the URBNSURF lagoon separate to their competition heats.
