Wylie and Holland Claim Victory in Thrilling Work Safe Victorian Classic State Round.

Published on 26/10/2026

BELLS BEACH/DJARRAK, VICTORIA – OCTOBER 26, 2026 — Surfing Victoria extends a huge congratulations to Tully Wylie and Rose Holland, who claimed victories in the Men’s and Women’s divisions at the latest state round of surfing over the weekend.
The Men’s Division came down to a high-scoring, nail-biting finish. WSL Qualifying Series (QS) surfer Tully Wylie demonstrated exceptional form to take top honours with a total score of 14.34. Wylie narrowly held off a fierce challenge from runner-up Willis Droomer (14.23) to win by a mere 0.11-point margin. Kai Nudd took 3rd place with a strong 14.00 total, while Harry De Roth placed 4th with 7.17.
“Stoked to get the win after a super close final,” said Wylie. “It was a great battle out there—everyone was putting up solid scores, so to find that wave right at the end to get the score was huge. Saturday was epic with pumping waves at Bells Bowl, and while Sunday turned into a real grind with the rain and wind, it made the win even more rewarding. A massive shoutout to the Surfing Victoria team for putting on a great event. I’m super stoked to secure the win and grab a spot in the trials.”
In the Women’s Division, Rose Holland pulled off the ultimate upset performance of the weekend. Facing a stacked lineup that included World Surf League (WSL) Challenger Series competitors Ellie Harrison and India Robinson, Holland put together a dominant strategy to secure 1st place with an 11.30 total score, finishing 1.46 points clear of her nearest rival. Harrison finished in 2nd place with 9.84, followed by Arabella Wilson in 3rd (8.63) and Robinson in 4th (8.07).
The weekend showcased outstanding performances across changing conditions, starting at Bells Beach / Djarrak in clean 3ft+ waves on Saturday before a weather system change prompted a venue move to Jan Juc for Sunday’s finals.
