WorkSafe Tradies Surf Challenge returns to URBNSURF this October

Published on 12/09/2023

Surfing Victoria and WorkSafe Victoria are stoked to announce the WorkSafe Tradies Surf Challenge will be returning to URBNSURF this October 29th.

Bringing together surfing tradies from around the state to Australia’s first wave park, the event is a relaxed and fun surfing competition.

WorkSafe Executive Director of External Affairs Sam Jenkin said the competition is a fantastic way for tradies to connect and strengthen bonds, which can in turn contribute to safer workplaces.

“The camaraderie and conversations that come from events such as this help to increase awareness and concern for each other’s safety on the worksite,” Mr Jenkin said.

“WorkSafe has sponsored the Tradies Surf Challenge for six years now, and it’s an opportunity to promote safer workplaces that we’re really proud of.”

The event features Open Mens, Open Womens, Masters Open and Bodyboard Open divisions with a huge raft of prizes from WorkSafe, Heaps Normal and Milwaukee Tools.

“We are stoked to be heading back to URBNSURF for the WorkSafe Tradies Challenge” said Surfing Victoria CEO Adam Robertson.

“We know that there are a lot of surfing tradies out there across the state and this is a great way for them to catch up and get involved in a fun day of waves at URBNSURF.”

All competitors will receive free-surfing time in the URBNSURF lagoon separate to their competition heats.

Limited entries are now open via www.surfingvic.com
