Torquay, Surf Coast, Victoria (Wednesday 8th Wednesday, 2021): Surfing Victoria, in partnership with Woolworths and Surfing Australia, have rescheduled the upcoming Woolworths Surfer Groms Comp, which was to be held at Torquay beach on October 2 -3. Due to ongoing COVID19 restrictions in Victoria, the event will be held on the new date of November 27 – 28 on Victoria’s Surf Coast.
“It’s disappointing to postpone yet another big event on the Victorian calendar, however with the continued COVID19 restrictions, we want to make it possible for all groms statewide to attend safely” said Surfing Victoria CEO Adam Robertson. “We appreciate the patience and understanding from competitors and parents and look forward to hosting the Woolworths Surfer Groms Comp at Torquay in late November.”
The Woolworths Surfer Grom Comps cater for the mini, mirco groms (U/8) to the big kids alike (U/14) of any level, and is all about providing a fun, but competitive environment. Event entry is now open and can be found via this link.
The series continues nationally and will kick off in Kiama, New South Wales. Dates for New South Wales Woolworths Surfer Grom events are currently being determined, as the Covid-19 restrictions are being monitored. Rescheduled date announcements will be announced in the coming days.
Entry by Qualification/invitation – Only applicable for U14 Boy & Girl winners of all events;
National Final – Surfing Australia HPC, Casuarina QLD – Dec 17 – 19, 2021
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation and Surfing Australia’s commitment to comply with all State and Federal regulations, series dates are subject to change at any time.
Each host state adheres to COVID-19 safe event delivery guidelines respective to their State regulations.

Each Woolworths Surfer Groms Comp event is rated at 4500pts for first place (check ratings table at https://surfingaustralia.com/rankings/) and the Woolworths Surfer Groms Comp National Final is rated at 5500pts for first place (check ratings table at https://surfingaustralia.com/rankings/) on the Surfing Australia National Junior Rankings.
