Victorian Teams Titles presented by Coffey Testing to headline massive weekend of surfing on the Mornington Peninsula

Friday 15th March, 2024 (Gunnamatta, Victoria): The Mornington Peninsula is set to host a massive weekend of surfing with the Victorian Teams Titles presented by Coffey Testing, Victorian Open Series and Peninsula Surfriders Club 50th Birthday all taking place on the surf rich peninsula.

Since its inception in 1976, the Victorian Teams Titles has brought together the top Boardriders Clubs from around the state to battle for the top club.

Getting the opportunity to host this years event is previous years champion Peninsula Surfriders Club. Boasting a strong lineup of surfers including Caiden Fowler, Ava Holland and Lucas Hickson, the club in its 50th year will be tough to beat on home turf.

The event will also feature a Junior and Womens divisions, with clubs including Peninsula Boardriders, Pt. Londsdale, Phillip Island, Torquay Boardriders and 13th Beach.

The final round of the Victorian Open Series will be run on Sunday, with state champions to be crowned and awarded positions in the Rip Curl Pro Trials.

Sitting in pole position ahead of the weekend is former state champion Steve Noble, who is no stranger to open ocean beach breaks. Noble was event champion at Cape Woolamai and will be one to watch at Gunnamatta on Sunday.

Emily Mcgettigan and Ava Holland are locked in top spot on equal points ahead of the final round. With both surfers sitting on 1800 points, the state champion will be awarded to whoever finishes higher at the end of Sunday.

Swell forecast is for a fun sized swell on Saturday and Sunday with offshore winds providing perfect conditions.

Competition is set to begin at 9.00am on Saturday and 7.30am on Sunday at Gunnamatta. Live scores and schedule can be followed via www.surfingvic.com/live
