Riding the High Line

Published on 07/02/2024

The Surf Coast is set to host the inaugural High Line Surf Fest on Saturday 9 March at Torquay Point. The Fest is a one day celebration of women and non-binary ocean lovers of all ages and abilities. Featuring a stellar lineup of activities the program includes a Walk on Country with Wadawurrung Traditional Owners, surf related panels, workshops and short films, a friendly tag team event and stalls. Festival organisers have rallied together to create an inclusive and fun environment to connect ocean lovers and celebrate women and non-binary folk riding waves.

“High Line Surf Fest is an important opportunity for the Victorian surf community to continue championing and celebrating the women and non-binary surfers that live along this beautiful coastline. The energy behind the festival is one of love, inclusiveness, empowerment and fun. The Surf Coast is so rich in powerful surfing history and this is an important page in that book. We’re aiming to bring women and non-binary people who love surfing together and remind them that they have an important place in the waves,” said festival organiser Jessi Rebel.

The full High Line Surf Fest program will be announced in early February.
