Torquay, VIC/AUS (Tuesday 19th March, 2026): An exciting weekend of surfing concluded at Jan Juc with Victoria’s top emerging surfers and boardrider clubs delivering standout performances at the UNCLOUD Under 21 Victorian State Titles and Victorian Teams Titles.
Clean conditions and consistent waves provided the perfect stage for high-performance surfing across both days of competition, with state titles and team honours decided.
Sunday’s UNCLOUD Under 21 Victorian State Titles saw some of the state’s best young surfers go head-to-head, with both divisions producing tightly contested heats.
In the Under 21 Men’s Final, Willis Droomer claimed the Victorian title after a composed and consistent performance saw him post a winning two-wave total of 12.33 points. Droomer held off a strong challenge from Lucas Hickson, who finished runner-up with 11.77 points in one of the closest finals of the event.
Remy Filer finished in third place, while Jarvis Barrow rounded out the final in fourth.
“Im pretty happy,” said Droomer. “Its nice to have a comp at home at Jan Juc. It was good fun and really good camaraderie with the boys. The waves were a bit slow at times, but super fun when they came.”
The Under 21 Women’s Final delivered another impressive display, with Rose Holland taking the Victorian title after combining sharp rail work and strong wave selection to finish with a 11.84 point heat total.
Stevie O’Day secured second place ahead of Sara Hickson in third and Sophie Wilkinson in fourth.
“All the girls were ripping,” said Holland. “There was a heap of girls from the Peninsula so it was super fun. Im stoked to win.”
Saturday’s Victorian Teams Titles created a vibrant atmosphere on the beach as clubs from across the state battled for bragging rights in one of the most unique formats on the Victorian calendar.
In the Open Teams division, Torquay Boardriders Club delivered a dominant performance throughout the day before securing victory in the final ahead of Point Lonsdale Boardriders Club and 13th Beach Boardriders Club.
“Its awesome to win this event,” said club president Tully Wylie. “We have had some great results in teams events in the past but you still have to turn up on the day and put in a good performance.”
“It can get super competitive out in the water with other clubs, but we are all friends on the sand afterwards and thats what makes these events great.”
The Junior Teams division was also claimed by Torquay Boardriders Club after a strong all-round team performance, with Peninsula Boardriders Club finishing second and Phillip Island Boardriders Club placing third.
Peninsula Boardriders Club took top honours in the Women’s Teams division, edging out Phillip Island Boardriders Club in an exciting final.
