2022/23 Victorian Open Series kicks off this weekend at Bells Beach / Djarrak

Bells Beach/Djarrak, Wadawurrung Country (Friday 9th September, 2022): The Victorian Open Series is set to kick off this weekend at Bells Beach/Djarrak on Wadawurrung Country as the opening event of the three-part series.

With the ultimate goal of crowning the Victorian Open Champion, the series is also the pathway into the 2023 Rip Curl Pro Trials which allocates the Victorian wildcard into the main rounds of the Rip Curl Pro.

Surfers to watch this weekend include reigning Victorian Champion Xavier Huxtable (Jan Juc), U/16 ISA World Champion Willis Droomer (Jan Juc), Harry de Roth (Phillip Island), Ava Holland (Dromana), Lucy Naylor (Pt Lonsdale) and Ruby Armstrong (Flinders)

The forecast for the event will see an increase in swell and wind throughout Saturday with fun waves across the high tide at Rincon.

Check in for competitors is 7.15am for a 7.30am start at Bells Beach.
