Urquhart Bluff, Great Ocean Road (Monday, 9th February 2026): The Woorrangalook Victorian Koori Surf Titles was held over the weekend on Wadawurrung Country at Urquhart Bluff on the Great Ocean Road.

More than 90 Aboriginal and Torre Strait Islander people from across the state gathered to celebrate the annual event which brings together Indigenous Communities in a fun weekend of surfing and culture.

The event saw representation from Geelong, Bellarine Peninsula, Surf Coast, Phillip Island, Ballarat, Bendigo, Shepparton, Yarra Valley, Metropolitan Melbourne, East Gippsland, Portland and Hamilton in Southwest Victoria.

The event was opened on Saturday morning by Wadawurrung Elder Corrina Eccles and cleansed with a traditional smoking and mixing of the water’s ceremony.

Competition followed and participants were greeted with clean conditions at Urqhuart Bluff on the Great Ocean Road. With the assistance of surf coaches and volunteers in the water, the junior competitive divisions were finalised.

The Open divisions were run and won by the sibling duo of Charlie and Delilah Chishom (Torquay). Delilah has now gone back to back champion after claiming her inaugural title in 2025, whilst Charlie claims his first event Indigenous State Title.

“The event is so special, it’s about coming together and supporting and connecting with each other on Wadawurrung Country,” said Charlie Chisholm, Open Men’s Champion. “Seeing all the kids be stoked catching waves and sharing the line up with everyone is the best, it has the best energy.”
