The 2023 Victorian SUP Surfing Titles are all set to run this Saturday the 13th of May where Victoria’s best SUP competitors will battle it out to qualify for the Australian SUP Titles to be run later in the year.
Point Impossible is locked in as the primary location for competition with a 2-3 ft swell lined up for the weekend. This gives the competitors the opportunity to show off a variety of maneuvers and techniques on the long right hand walls of Point Impossible.
Divisions for the event include Open Men, Open Women, Over 40 Men, Over 50 Men, Over 60 Men, Open Women 10ft SUP, Open Men 10 ft SUP, Over 50 Womens, Over 40 Womens and Over 50 Men 10ft SUP.
Last year’s Open Mens runner up and Torquay local Rick Pettifer (Torquay) will be among the 30 surfers competing this Saturday and will be looking to take the win this year. On the other side of the draw, Emma Webb (Jan Juc) will want to back up her Open Womens win in the 2022 Victorian SUP title.
“It will be great to see the high calibre of competitors put together some amazing rides at Point Impossible,” said CEO Adam Robertson.
“We will also be able to see who rises to the occasion to claim a spot into the Australian SUP titles,” he continued.
The first call for the event will be at 7.15 am for a 7.30 am start on Saturday at Point Impossible.
