PHILIP ISLAND, VICTORIA (Tuesday, 4 October 2022): The 2022 Australian SUP Titlesgets underway tomorrow.

Today an opening ceremony was held at the Phillip Island nature park.

Competitors and guests were welcomed by traditional owner Daniel Hume, representing the Bunurong Land Council before a briefing on the conditions.

Contest Director Max Wells said excellent conditions are forecast for the entire competition window.

“Tomorrow it’s looking good for the marathon race departing Coronet Bay to Cowes, with a strong easterly wind.”

Day two, the surfing starts. Held on Victoria’s Bass Coast, competition will almost certainly be held at Woolamai Beach, which has hosted countless world-rated surfing events.

“The fantastic thing about Phillip Island is the number of options we have. We’re expecting 2-3 foot and perfect winds that are predicted to hold all day,” Wells said.

Keep up to date with results and information at the Australian SUP Titles website.
