Victorian Micro Groms Cup to launch on the Surf Coast for next generation of groms

The Victorian Micro Groms Cup presented by Surf Better Now is set to launch on the Surf Coast offering the next generation of surf stars an opportunity to surf against their peers and experience their first surf competition.

Held at Torquay Point on November 9 & 10 the event will have divisions from under 8 parent-assist all the way to the Under 14 boys and girls divisions.

The all-grommet, family-orientated event is all about providing a fun, competitive environment with a focus on introducing competitors to the structure of a professionally run surfing contest.

Surfing Victoria CEO Adam Robertson is excited to see the next generation of surfers get an opportunity to surf in their first ever event.

“This event is a fantastic introduction to surfing competition and a key part of our surfing development pathway” said Robertson.

“It is all about having fun, meeting new people and surfing some great waves. Im looking forward to seeing all of the new surfers coming through and having an epic weekend.”

Competitors will also walk away from the weekend with heaps of prizes from event partners and plenty of stoke heading into summer!

The Victorian Micro Groms Cup is a 4,500 point rated event on the Surfing Australia Junior Series (U12 and U14 only).
