Inaugural UNCLOUD U21 Victorian State Titles to create new pathway for surfers

Published on 23/03/2026

Torquay, VIC/AUS (Monday 23rd March, 2026): Surfing Victoria is proud to announce the inaugural UNCLOUD Under 21 Victorian State Title will take place this May at Jan Juc on the Surf Coast.

The new event will form a new pathway for junior surfers to progress to the Australian Shortboard Surf Championships held in Wollongong in August this year with the winner and runner up gaining a spot in the Victorian Team heading to the event.

The event will also form part of the pathway into the Rip Curl Pro trials  with the champions of the UNCLOUD U21 Victorian State Titles to gain an automatic entry into the Rip Curl Pro Trials. Each year the Rip Curl Pro Trials sees one Victorian Male and Female compete for the final spot in the main draw of the Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach.

“We’re incredibly excited to launch the UNCLOUD U21 Victorian Junior Surfing Titles and to offer this new division to surfers in Victoria,” said Surfing Victoria CEO Adam Robertson.

“This event represents an important evolution of our junior pathway, providing a dedicated platform for our emerging surfers to bridge the gap between junior competition and the next level of their careers.”

Held at Jan Juc on Sunday, May 17th, the event is open to all surfers under the age of 21 and provides an opportunity for surfers who have progressed beyond the Junior Surfing Titles to continue participation at a State and National level.

Entries for the event are now open via www.surfingvic.com/events
