Gunnamatta to hold Round 2 of Woolworths Junior Titles 2022

Published on 18/03/2022

The second round of the Woolworths Junior Titles 2022 is set to be held at Gunnamatta on the Mornington Peninsula this weekend.

Being the second event of the series, this provides the keen grommets with the opportunity to accumulate more points which can lead to being selected into the Victorian Junior Surfing Team.

The event will see the current top junior rippers from a range of age groups from Under 14 to Under 18.

This will include Under 16 Round 1 champion Sophie Wilkinson (Mornington Peninsula) who will be looking to go back to back in Round 2. Also competing in the event are other top surfers from around the state such as Jack Lindsay (Torquay, Under 14), Sarsha Pancic (Blairgowrie, Under 18) and Jay Phipps (Point Lonsdale, Under 16).

“It will be great to see the groms consolidate their solid performance in Phillip Island,” said Surfing Victoria CEO Adam Robertson.

“It’s exciting to see the future of Victorian surfing develop over each comp” Robertson continued.

The first call for the event will be 7:30am for an 8:00am start at Gunnamatta, Mornington Peninsula on Saturday.
