The race for wildcards into Bells Beach Longboard Classic World Tour Event will come to its conclusion this weekend as the final round of the Victorian Longboard Titles presented by Kieser Australia is held at Point Impossible on Victoria’s Surf Coast.
“Its exciting to have the final event of the Victorian Longboard Titles presented by Kieser Australia at Point Impossible, one of the best longboard waves on the coast,” said Surfing Victoria CEO Adam Robertson.
“The series so far has been super exciting and we have seen some great surfing across all divisions. Good luck to all competitors as they head into the final event.”
The top Open and Open Female competitor at the conclusion of the series will be awarded a wildcard into the 2025 Bells Beach Longboard Classic in September cementing the pathway for Victorian Longboarders from Boardriders Clubs to World Tour.
The series will also be the key selection criteria for inclusion in the Victorian State Team heading to the Australian Longboard Titles in July on the Tweed Coast, NSW.
Barwon Heads surfer Ben Considine will be one to watch this weekend as he chases his third Open Longboard Title and entry into the Bells Beach Longboard Classic. Considine has a strong history of good results at Point Impossible, and comes into the event after a win at Phillip Island earlier in the year.
Conditions for the weekend look challenging with onshore winds and a strong swell impacting the coast.
First call on Saturday will be at Point Impossible at 7.15am for a 7.30am start. Competitors are advised to join the Whatsapp group for the call in the morning.
