Phillip Island / Millowl, VIC/AUS (Friday 8th May, 2026): Victoria’s best emerging surfers are set for a thrilling showdown this weekend as the final round of the 2026 No TXT No Wrecks Victorian Junior Surfing Titles heads to Phillip Island / Millowl.

With State Champions to be crowned across six divisions, more than 60 of the state’s top junior surfers will descend on Phillip Island for the deciding stop of the prestigious three-event series.

After opening rounds at Bells Beach / Djarrak and the Mornington Peninsula, the race for the Victorian State Titles remains wide open in several divisions, with surfers battling for valuable rankings points and selection into the Victorian State Team.

The Under 18 Boys division is shaping as one of the closest contests of the weekend, with Sunny Wouters (Rye), Tarvi Woods (Fingal) and reigning State Champion Jarvis Barrow (Jan Juc) all firmly in contention for the overall title after standout performances throughout the series.

The Under 16 divisions are also expected to go down to the wire. Liam Thomson (Torquay) made an emphatic start to the season with victory at Bells Beach, while surfers including Tully Gordon (Jan Juc) and Harlem Pec (Jan Juc) remain in the mix heading into the decider.

In the Under 16 Girls, Scarlett Rennie (Cape Woolamai) and Rose Holland (Dromana) have traded victories across the opening two rounds, setting up an exciting battle for the overall State Title on Phillip Island with Sophie Day (Mornington Peninsula) also in the mix.

The Under 14 divisions have produced some of the most exciting surfing of the series so far, with Teddy Robertson (Torquay) and Raff Morris (Sorrento) locked in a close title race in the boys division after both surfers recorded a win and a runner-up finish during the opening rounds.

Meanwhile, the Under 14 Girls division remains incredibly tight, with Estella Carbonelli (Jan Juc), Stevie O’Day (Torquay), Cobie O’Day (Torquay) and Lily White (Jan Juc) all in contention heading into the final event.

Surfing Victoria CEO Adam Robertson said Phillip Island was the perfect location to crown the next generation of Victorian State Champions.

“Phillip Island has a rich history of hosting some of Australia’s best junior surfing events and we are excited to bring the final round of the No TXT No Wrecks Victorian Junior Surfing Titles back to the region,” said Robertson.

“The level of talent coming through the Victorian junior pathway continues to rise each year and this weekend will showcase some of the best young surfers in the country competing for State Titles.”

“The series plays an incredibly important role in developing the next generation of Victorian surfers, giving them the opportunity to gain competitive experience in a high-performance environment while also earning selection into the Victorian State Team.”

The No TXT No Wrecks Victorian Junior Surfing Titles continue to promote important road safety messaging through the TAC’s No TXT No Wrecks campaign, encouraging young drivers to stay focused behind the wheel and avoid distractions while travelling to and from the coast.
