Tully Wylie to return as No TXT No Wrecks Ambassador thanks to VicRoads Community Road Safety Grants Program

Published on 05/03/2025

In partnership with the VicRoads Community Road Safety Grant, Surfing Victoria is proud to continue the highly successful #NoTXTNoWrecks campaign in Victoria.

Professional surfer original campaign ambassador Tully Wylie will return again this year as part of the campaign.

The campaign, initially created in 2015 by Surfing Western Australia, has been a strong catalyst for change in the surfing community in Western Australia and saw similar results in Victoria the last two years.

“The campaign has been received really well in the last two years” said Surfing Victoria CEO Adam Robertson. “We know drivers are 10 times more at risk of crashing if they are texting, browsing or emailing on their mobile phone. With Surfers spending so much time on the road this campaign is vitally important to improving road safety.”

“It’s a privilege to be part of this campaign ” said Wylie. “Taking your eyes off the road for 2 seconds or more doubles your crash risk. Its important to keep your phone out of reach and arrive at the beach safely..”

The campaign will be rolled out across Surfing Victoria social channels as well as at events across the state.
