Torquay, VIC/AUS (Friday 10th January, 2025): The search for the next junior surfing stars in Victoria is set to begin this weekend as the No TXT No Wrecks Junior Surfing Titles kicks off on the Surf Coast, Wadawurrung Country.
The first stop on the three event series, will be held on the Surf Coast with over 70 competitors confirmed for the event.
“The No TXT No Wrecks Junior Surfing Titles is the key pathway for our junior surfers to develop their skills and gain points on the Surfing Australia Junior Series,” said Surfing Victoria CEO Adam Robertson.
“All of the current and former Victorians on the Qualifying Series and Championships Tour have progressed through this series which helped them develop their skills in world class waves.”
Surfers to watch over the event include top seeds in the Under 18 divisions, Ava Holland (Mornington Peninsula) and Remy Filer (Jan Juc) along with Under 16 division top seeds, Angus Kennedy (Phillip Island) and Rose Holland (Mornington Peninsula).
Forecast for the weekend will see a small day of surf on Saturday with likely location to be Jan Juc, before an increase in swell overnight and a shift back to Bells Beach / Djarrak for Finals day on Sunday.
Competition is expected to begin at 7.30am on both days with competitors are urged to join the competitor WhatsApp group for updates on start times and locations.
