Djarrak / Bells Beach will once again play host to the 2025 Australian Indigenous Surfing Titles presented by Rip Curl this May, bringing together the top Indigenous surfing talent from around Australia for the 12th consecutive year.
The event boasts Indigenous surfers from across the country including Western Australia, Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia.
Victorian Government Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events Steve Dimopoulos said he’s excited to welcome the Titles back to Victoria at one of the world’s most iconic surfing beaches.
“It will be great to welcome First Nations surfers from across the country to one of the most anticipated events on the Victorian surfing calendar and what better place to have it then right here at Bells Beach/Djarrak on Wadawurrung Country.
The event will host divisions including Open Men and Women, Junior Men and Women (U18), Masters (O35) Men and Women, Over 50’s expression session and Open Men and Women Longboard.
“We’re rapt to welcome back the Australian Indigenous Surfing Titles to Djarrak (Bells Beach), on Wadawurrung Country” said Surf Coast Shire Council Mayor, Cr Mike Bodsworth
“Bells has deep significance for Wadawurrung Traditional Owners.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for top First Nations surfers and spectators – including visitors from across Australia – to connect with Country at one of the world’s most iconic breaks.”
Multiple time Indigenous Open Champion, Russ Molony (Central Coast, NSW), is looking forward to returning to the region for the event.
“This is my favourite time of year, connecting with our Mobs , celebrating culture and surfing Bells.”

As an added bonus, both the Open Champions from the event will be granted a wildcard into the Australian Surf Championships held later in the year.
“Surfing Victoria are proud to be once again hosting the Australian Indigenous Surfing Titles presented by Rip Curl at Djarrak. Now being in its 12th year, the event has become a one of the most looked forward to events on the Victorian and National surfing calendar” said Surfing Victoria CEO Adam Robertson.

The Australian Indigenous Surfing Titles will be held on May 30 – June 1 at Djarrak / Bells Beach on Wadawurrung Country.
A welcome to Country will be held by Wadawurrung Traditional Owners at 7.30am on May 30th to open the event. All welcome.
